City will Recruit Citizen as School Guards

Jakarta Provincial Government will evaluate school guards. The position will not be occupied by civil servant (PNS). As the replacement, citizen who live around school will be recruited as school guards.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, said if PNS also works as school guards, the income is not match to its workload. At least PNS staff gets income Rp 13 million per month.

Council Supports Inclusive School In Sub-District

"The income is too expensive for PNS who works as school guard. Moreover, it is not match for its workload," he said in management meeting at City Hall, Monday (2/20).

He asked for school guard who had civil servant status to be shifted to another position. As a replacement, local citizen will be recruited to be school guards.

"The concept is similar to PPSU. So, we recruit an unemployed citizen but diligent," he added.

He explained that similar to PPSU, school guards recruitment will be paid according to City Minimum Salary as many as Rp 3.3 million.

"There is another requirement, not only guard the school but also cleaning and watering the plants," he closed.
